The Empty Tomb

The Cenotaph, located at Esplanade Park along Connaught Drive, is a war memorial which commemorates the sacrifice of the men who perished during World War I and World War II. It was unveiled on 31 March 1922 by the Prince of Wales.

The Cenotaph was first erected as a memorial in honour of the 124 men from Singapore who died in action during World War I.

In 1950, the government approved an extension to the base of the structure to commemorate those who died during World War II. The extension was completed in 1951.

Deepavali also known as Diwali, literally means “row or garland of lights”. Locally, it has been called “The Festival of Lights”. It is symbolic of victory of good over evil, celebrated by most Hindus the world over. It highlights the victory of Lord Krishna, one of the deities of the Hindu pantheon, over the Demon King, Narakasura. It usually falls around late October or early November on the new moon day. Happy Diwali to my Hindu friends! #infopedia #singapore

If those words that’s going around is true, then it’s time for some people to think and make the necessary explanations and start appreciating others which has been around for you during the chaotic period as well. Or else….. You will lose the people sooner or later.
